Residents were entertained by a special St Georges Day panto on Friday 26th April at 3 pm organised and performed by The Uplifters and titled “By George”, it featured performances by many famous “Georges” including “George Formby” and “George Harrison”!
St George’s Day (which is celebrated on the 23rd April – the date traditionally accepted at the day the Saint died on, in AD303) has become the celebration of England’s National Day.
